The Charlottetown Kinsmen Club along with Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Island is pleased to announce the joint fundraising project; The Kinsmen of Charlottetown & Habitat for Humanity Penny Drive. Both Organizations are pleased to establish this fund raising event in order to raise money for Kinsmen charities and the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
As you have heard on the news of late, the Canadian Government has removed the penny from circulation. Therefore, merchants and banks alike will no longer be dispensing the penny. While it is still useable, over the next few years, it will be gone and we all will be “penny-less”.
That is why the Charlottetown Kinsmen and the Habitat for Humanity PEI has created this partnership; to put these PENNIES to good use. Starting Feb 4th through to Feb 28th, the Charlottetown Kinsmen will be collecting unused PENNIES from the Charlottetown and Surrounding Areas and will have donation containers located at various merchants. Both Organizations are asking that all residents participate by dropping off or donating those jars of loose change, in the name of Charity.
